The concept of starting the mighty organization viz., Life Underwriters
Guild of India (LUGI) exclusively intended for providing higher
education combining with powerful
mindset was initiated before two decades.
Keeping in mind, what is happening outside India, it was felt
that our system of canvassing, our procedures of closing and our
method of prospecting has to be improved. It has been decided
to start an organization exclusively intended for the purpose
of providing education, enhancing the skill and knowledge of our
marketing colleagues.
The LUGI was born.
Shri P. Srinivasan, Agent, LIC of India, Tatabad Branch, Coimbatore
has been nominated as the Founder President. Shri G.Jaishankar,
Development Officer, LIC of India, Pondicherry has been nominated
as Secretary General. Shri S. Jameesa, Agent, LIC of India, Avanashi
Road Branch has been nominated as Treasurer for Life Underwriters
Guild of India.
It has been crystallized and formal inauguration of the organization
was done on 22"d September 2002 by Chairman, LIC of India,
Shri S.B. Mathur.
LUGI has framed its own Rules and Constitution and the same was
already placed before the AGM held on last year.
First year the organization was able to add 854 members.
LUGI is sending circulars featuring the latest developments and
changes in the insurance industry.
